Vincent Van Gogh is a hardy 2009 Ford E250 #vanlife camper van. This van is a perfect low-maintenance rugged rig that will get you across the country and back. If you are interested in the #vanlife and want to see what it's like, this is the rig for you.Vincent features a full-size futon bed with under-bed storage. The mattress was bought new just for renters like yourself. The futon can be kept in the bed position or raised to a seated position for casual relaxation.Vincent has 200W of solar on the roof that powers a 576Wh Ecoflow River Max portable power station. This battery can run laptops, smartphones, cameras, electric coolers, and any other digital accessory you want to bring. It has USB, DC, and AC (US wall) adapters.Vincent has an electric roof vent in the middle of the unit with three speeds, powered by the solar battery.Vincent has a passenger-side swivel seat. Simply unplug the airbag and you can spin the seat 360 degrees in any direction. Great for relaxing in the cabin. Just remember to straighten it out and plug the airbag back in before departing!Vincent is a low-top. You may see this as a disadvantage, but you'd be wrong. High tops rattle and shake when driving in windy areas. Low tops don't. Low tops can also be parked in city garages with low clearance, making it possible to visit urban areas. The best part: Vincent gets 15mpg to 20mpg. You won't spend an arm and a leg on gas driving this great rig around. If you're looking for an introduction to classic #vanlife or a budget trip across the country, Vincent is the van for you.
What's included1. 200W roof-mounted solar and 576Wh solar battery
2. Full-size futon mattress
3. Fresh sheets
4. Zero-degree large sleeping bag
5. Camp cooking equipment
6. Four bottles of propane
7. Two camping chairs
8. Emergency repair kit (heavyweight tire jack, spare tire, etc)
RecommendationsIf you are looking for somewhere within reasonable driving distance, I would recommend these locations:1. Mt. Mitchell and the smoky mountains (8-hour drive)
2. New Jersey beaches (And NYC if you like that sort of thing) (8-hour drive)
3. Hocking Hills (1-hour drive)
4. Sleeping Bear Dunes (7 hours)
5. Niagara Falls (6 hours)
Other things to noteThe wood veneer is peeling and bubbling in some places, as you can see in the photos. This damage is cosmetic only.Cigarette smoke is allowed as long as you open windows or doors and run the roof van for good ventilation. What I don't want is stagnant cigarette smoke baking into the walls, that's all (:420 friendly. When you receive the van, it will have a full tank of gas. Please return with a full tank of gas. If you do not return Vincent with a full tank of gas, I will charge you the price of gas at the pump to fill the van up, plus a $20 service fee.Vincent is dog-friendly, but there may be an additional cleaning fee of $35 for people who bring dogs along if your dog sheds a lot or leaves a strong smell in the van.If you get any tickets, unpaid tolls, moving violations, or anything similar, and the charges are held against me since it is my plate number, I will contact the states issuing the violations to have them charged against you, AND I will charge a $100 fee for having to do so. Please remember to bring roughly $20 in quarters for tolls to avoid this if you plan on visiting PA, NJ, or any other state with tolls.

Meet your host, Sam

Member since 2021

Sam Holstein first got interested in #vanlife back in 2016. After doing some research, they decided to buy their first camper van in 2018. Their favorite type of vans are self-contained rigs capable of going off-grid for weeks at a time. They are looking forward to giving other people the opportunity to experience #vanlife without having to buy and convert their own van.

Have a question?Get answers directly from the host

Q.Does this rig have a portable toilet?
A.
No, and here's why: When I was living in my rig full-time for 3 months, I had a portable toilet... and only used it once. As long as I used facilities at gas stations, there was no problem. (Especially since I like to park outside Wal-Marts and 24-hour gas stations). Having a toilet onboard has its own problems. It stinks and needs emptying. It's not sanitary. I wanted to avoid that in this small space. The rig does include a plastic trowel and nature-friendly toilet paper for boondocking.

Q.What kind of fuel does it take?
A.
Standard fuel from any ordinary gas station. The gas cap has the minimum octane rating printed on it.

Q.How does the swivel seat work?
A.
Vincent comes with a passenger-side swivel seat. You can use the swivel seat by disconnecting the airbag plug that is in front, then grasping the swivel seat's lever and pulling up to free the seat. Once this is done, you can turn the passenger seat a full 360 degrees so it can be used as a cabin seat for relaxing.

Q.Can I come look at the van by appointment before renting?
A.
No. It's simply too time-consuming for me to do this for every interested renter. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have through Outdoorsy's system, and take additional photos and videos for you, and you are free to "test-drive" the van by renting it for a day, but I don't offer tours of the van by appointment.
