2015 Four Wheel Campers Hawk Flatbed

The truck is a modified 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with Cummins 6.7 turbo diesel with an automatic transmission. The regular cab configuration is ideal for 2 people to travel in comfort. A 3rd can ride in the center if but may not be too comfortable for a full size adult long term but okay for a young teen. The truck was built by AT Overland (ATOverland.com) and has a 4" ICON suspension specifically tuned for the camper and rides on 37” tires. It has a GPS, rear camera, winch, off road lights, compressor and locking rear differential. Average 15-18 MPG depending upon terrain and driving habits. The camper is a 2015 Four Wheel Camper Hawk Flatbed (fourwh.com). Designed to be really light weight, simple, rugged and self-contained with very high quality materials and craftsmanship throughout. Together, the truck and camper are an amazing adventure-mobile. The truck has more than ample power with the turbo diesel engine on the highway and in the mountains. The whole package can go anywhere a car can go and then some. Our truck camper is easy to drive. You will get used to it in minutes. Parking is not difficult with the rear view camera. Even though this is a full size truck, it is only 3 feet longer and 6 inches wider than a Toyota Tacoma. For camping, it has everything that you would need - very comfortable bed and warm on cold nights, well ventilated on hot days, hot & cold running water (26 gallons – 98 liters), stove (propane), sink, outside & inside shower, waterless toilet system, interior and exterior lighting, 8’ awning etc. Power comes from on-board batteries that charge when you drive and solar panels when you’re parked. USB and 12 volt power ports for charging your mobile devices. It can also be plugged in if you have access to a 110V outlet. Inside, easy sleeping for 3 with a queen size bed and the dinette converts into a single bed, propane heater keeps you cozy on cold nights. 2 vents with a fan keep a breeze going it gets hot. Refrigerator/freezer to keep your food fresh and ice cream ready for dessert. Sink and stove for preparing your meals. This camper is very easy to use use and has amazing interior & exterior storage. It is very low profile while driving (saves fuel and is robust) and the roof pops up within seconds with help from gas strut assists. Lawn chairs, fresh linens, towels, cooking utensils and other camping necessities are provided. Just add your duffel bag of clothing, food and beverages and you’re good to go! Moab, Utah is only 1 ½ hours away. We are well placed as a jumping off point for the myriad of Southwest adventures you crave like Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelly, Zion, Escalante, Ouray, Telluride and the Continental Divide to name a few nearby epic destinations. Fruita is considered one of the best mountain biking destinations in the USA. If you are interested in mountain bike rentals and a carrier for the truck, let us know and we'll connect you with a local rental company. Our home and pick up location is in Fruita, CO conveniently located off of Interstate 70 and just 10 minutes from the Grand Junction airport (GJT). Allegiant Airlines, Alaska, American Delta and United all fly into GJT with easy connections to Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Phoenix and Denver. We’ll pick you up if you fly in. Parking is available here if you are coming in your own vehicle to pick up. While our truck camper is very capable of going off-road in difficult terrain, it takes extensive skills to do so and we prefer that it should not be driven on anything more than Forest Service and BLM roads. Our rules for off-pavement travel are simple: If the terrain is extreme and a stock 4x4 cannot easily navigate it, you cannot go on it. Don't worry, there are 1000's of miles of Forest Service and BLM roads in the Southwest where you can enjoy secluded camping and immense vistas all to yourselves. Not sure where to go? We have maps, suggestions and GPS to help you get there :-) The only exception to the above rules is when I am leading you on a trip (ask about that if you are interested in a guided experience) or you have previously demonstrated your proficiency to me (I am a 4x4 professional). Other than that, we would love nothing more than you enjoying our truck camper when we are not. Please add your email address and contact number when contacting me for dates. No smokers or pets are allowed in the truck or camper. That means no smoking outside the vehicle either. It will cost your security deposit.

Had a great time! Mario is super helpful with all aspects of the experience. Because of the local law, he even provided a booster seat for my 6 year old. The rig (Pepe) is very comfortable/capable in pretty much any environment, and is basically complete with the exception of an oven or...

When the man says, just bring your clothes and get your food, you need to listen! The rig has everything you need! First, Mario gave us coordinates for a great first night camp spot. Lone Warrior was our first camp location and it was only about a 2 ½ hour drive from Fruita in South East...
