The Little Ducky is a 2018 Heartland Mallard M185BH.
It is one of the most compact bunk houses available. It may be small but it checks all of the boxes while encouraging you to spend time outside.
It is our home away from home and we have enjoyed sprucing it up to be homier than your average travel trailer. We have spent many nights in this little home away from home with friends, family, and our pets, it is well used, slightly worn, but well cared for. Since it has a dry weight of 3700 lbs. , and GVW rating of 4450 lbs. it can be towed comfortably with many popular vehicles.
Featuring a queen size bed, bunks it easily sleeps 4. It has a bathroom, dinette that seats 4, and compact kitchen. There is plenty of storage space to fit all of your gear. It also boasts generous water tanks, and an updated battery. This rig will fit into almost any spot, can be used off grid, and is what some call "cracker barrel ready" (meaning you can use the whole space without having to put slides out or pop up sleeping spaces). We've included all of the items we've found the most useful over the years and have included a fully stocked add on option options of things we think you will enjoy keeping your trip as simple or going full glamping mode. What's includedInside of the trailer has a smart TV with remote and dvd player/stereo system, press on and off led lights, overhead unit lights, regular outlets, Electric AC, propane heater, double sink, rv fridge, 3 burner stove, wardrobe and storage spaces. We have added room darkening curtains to all of the windows, new modern pull-down sink faucet, residential style shower head, and painted the cabinets and walls in the main space. We provide the basics for set up (see photos for details) including: 30 AMP electric cord, matches and lighter, hand crank for leveling jacks, electric tongue jack, weather radio, first aid kit, toilet paper, glowsticks/ flares for emergencies, potable water hose with filter and water pressure gage, 2 solar or usb charged lanterns, 2 small cutting boards, 2 kitchen sized garbage bags per day reserved, 4 suction cup hooks, bungee laundry line with clips, silicone strainer, 2 hot pads, 2 cork trivets, electric kettle, pour over coffee kraft and filters, cork screw, can opener, veggie peeler, 3 cooking knives, cooking utensils, 1 roll of paper towels, cooking pots and pans, dish drainer, 2 cotton dish towels, dish sponge, biodegradable dish soap, and one 5'x7' outdoor rug.We do not include camping gear beyond the basics to safely use, set up and tow the camper. We DO offer many add-on totes/kits or options so you can pick which supplies you wish to have with you. This helps us keep our nightly rate and basic cleaning fees low. It also helps conserve space in this small rig as it will only be packed with what you will use.
Please be sure to verify with us which add-ons you have picked and any questions you have regarding them. We have included pictures in the listing of each add-on for your convince. We are available at any time during your rental for any questions or issues you may have. Please reach out to us and we will do our best to help fix the situation. Please report any major issues as soon as safe to do so. If you incur any minor damage on the RV please message us, and we will repair it when you return it. Please DO NOT make repairs yourself. While this RV is very efficient and can be used off grid or connected to a standard 110 outlet, you will need to be connected to a 30AMP system for the AC to work. This RV does include a toilet or shower but has a black and gray tank limit of 42 gallons each and a freshwater tank of 52 gallons. This typically is more than enough for the 2 of us for a weekend, but water usage will vary by group. Please be aware of the tank levels and empty them as needed especially when at a site with water and electric only. Please make arrangements to have access to the necessary facilities at your camping location. Tanks are expected to all three be empty upon return of the RV. Failure to empty the tanks properly will result in an additional cleaning fee of $150.
Please do not flush anything besides rv safe toilet paper and human waste down the toilet. RV tanks do not function the same way indoor plumbing does, flushing anything else could cause major issues with the system and could result in you forfeiting your deposit.
We do not allow this RV to be used off road, under any circumstances.Only park the RV in designated vehicle parking spots at your campground. Do not park off of existing parking pads or designated spots. (Don't bust the crust!)Gas or gas powered equipment may not be transported or stored inside of the RV at any time.We are allergic to synthetic fragrance! DO NOT USE ANY SCENTED PRODUCTS in the RV for any reason at any time. Doing so may trigger an asthma attack, or skin irritations for our loved ones! Please only spray bug spray and sunscreen outside as well, as they can also be triggers. We require you to have a 2-inch trailer hitch receiver and towing package on your vehicle to rent this RV. You will also need a 7pin connector for trailer breaks and lights. We can provide the hitch. Please be prepared to send us a photo of your towing equipment to finalize your reservation. We will require you to have a trailer brake system. If you do not have a trailer break in your vehicle, we will require you to rent ours.
We require the use of weight distribution bars which we will provide, and we will provide an anti-sway bar if you desire to use one.
Dogs are welcome, but we ask that you let us know if they are joining you. Please do not leave pets unattended at or in the RV. No pets allowed in the RV unless agreed to prior to booking. Evidence of unapproved pets may result in forfeiting your deposit, and/or an additional cleaning fee. Please be aware of any obstacles while towing the RV. Take your time, if you need to stop, get out, look around, plan your next move, and be especially aware of your surroundings while parking or backing the RV, as unseen obstacles can easily cause major damage to the RV.Take down and put away the awning whenever you are not at the rig or at night while you are sleeping. Leaving the awning up can easily result in damage you will be responsible for paying to fix. Do not leave the awning up and unattended for any reason.Do not use an open flame inside of the camper or under the awning at any time. Please be respectful of other campers and the environment and do not leave trash, personal items, or gear behind, including human or dog waste. Practice pack it in pack it out and proper disposal practices when camping so the next person can enjoy the location as much as you did.Have fun, relax, and enjoy spending time outdoors. Happy trails!Whew! Thanks for hanging in there! We know this is a lot of information to take in or read.
When you make your reservation request, please use the phrase "I'm adventure ready" in your initial message to us to let us know you have read all of the provided information, and are ready to book your rental.
RecommendationsThis camper is perfect for just about any adventure you have in mind.Moms, do you need a quick get away to rest and recharge? This is perfect for that! It's easy to tow and set up. Take the dog, your best friend, your mom, sister or just yourself and hit the road for an easy little get away (that's MY plan)! What about that weekend hunting/ fishing/ hiking trip, where it's just a bit too cold and wet to tent camp? Yep, it's just the thing. Set up at your favorite spot and turn on the propane heater to be nice and toasty. We will leave all the fluff out so you can pack your tried-and-true gear, that you love. Were you an eagle scout who would really love to go camping with your girl but she's not into the whole sleep on the ground with the bugs thing? This camper has a cozy bed, and its own potty (trust me that's a big deal!) Not to mention it's pretty cute and will look great in Instagram photos!Looking to take the family somewhere a little further for spring break, or summer vacation? We recommend checking out our state and national parks systems!
We are national park geeks, our national park system is incredible! We always try to check out close by state parks when we visit a national park as the state parks usually have just as much to offer without the crowds.
We love exploring our Missouri state parks, there are so many different trails and adventures to be found some of our favorites are Johnson Shut-in's, Sam A Baker, Curvier river and Lake of the Ozarks State parks. If you are looking for a bit of a more urban get away we are about 30 miles from Hermann MO, camping in the city park is a unique and affordable way to experience the best of Missouri wine country. Check out www.visithermann.com for more things to do in Hermann. If you have time for a longer adventure we enjoy visiting state parks in our neighboring states, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas, and always look forward to going back. We also love Colorado, Michigan and West Virginia and can't wait to explore more in these areas.

Meet your host, Rachel

Member since 2023

We are Mike and Rachel Rich. We will be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary this fall. We met at church camp in high school and have always loved spending time outdoors with friends, family and our dogs. We use our campers as our bedroom at our family farm when everyone is together since the house is kind of small. We love planning 10 day(ish) trips where we pick a route to visit new places and family and friends. We do quite a bit of cold weather camping, hiking, and enjoy any chance we get to be on or near lakes, rivers or the ocean. Rachel is an artist and assistant glass blower, and Mike is an mechanical engineer and a veteran.

We had a great time at Purina Farms. Having the camper there was such a relief. It was nice being able to leave the event and go eat the. Go to bed without having to go any further than the camper. Rachel and Mike are great hosts and have a clean little camper. Would gladly rent again.

The Rich's were very flexible with pick up and drop off times and the camper was very clean and well organized. They made us feel very welcome and were helpful and responsive with any questions.
