This laid-back beach is a long sliver of sand with amazing snorkeling spots.
Most of all respect the locals and the island. Do not leave any trash, including cigarette butts! Leave it cleaner than you found it. Also when driving the road to Hana please park completely off the roadway legally (facing the correct direction and with tires off the road). The good, bad, ugly of your adventure vehicle:She is not a 4x4 vehicle so use your common sense when picking a spot to park, which roads you want to explore and paths you go down. If you think it’s too steep, rocky, wet or dangerous, it probably is! You can park off the road on sand or rocks, just make sure it’s not loose sand or too rocky because you will get stuck!Flat tires, getting stuck in the sand are your responsibility. If in doubt don’t park it. If you decide to make the trek up to Haleakala please use lower gears coming down the hill otherwise you will literally burn the brakes and maybe more.Gas is your responsibility, return on full.Weather: Make sure you check the weather where you are camping. Maui has a lot of wind and rain. Pay attention to flash flood warnings! Most of all enjoy, explore, smile, be a courteous driver who shares aloha :)

I live on Maui and own one of the best adventure companies here. After 5 year of exploring this island I have an endless amount of suggestions for waterfalls, beaches, camping spots and things you just shouldn't miss while on Maui. Offering up my vehicles and making camping adventures more accessible to people on Maui is just a no brainer. I consider myself a steward of my home and set my guests up with the knowledge and supplies they need to be able to respect and honor this island.
