Review summary
Responsive and accommodating Host
Michaela is consistently praised for being friendly, welcoming, and communicative, accommodating flight delays, and providing thoughtful extras, though one review cited unclear communication during problems.
Driving reliability is inconsistent
While often easy to drive for its large size, the van experienced multiple breakdowns, a slipping transmission, and a stiff sliding door for some. It provides a comfortable bed, AC, and is well-equipped with camping necessities.

5.0This was the perfect way to see the island! The van was comfortable and easy to drive. The bed was comfy, and the kitchen was well stocked.

5.0Mickaela is a great host! Carlos Vantana is a well used van that is spacious enough for two people but probably not more.

5.0This van absolutely rocked and had everything I needed and more. Perfect minimal camper van and Michaela couldn’t have been more pleasant or helpful. Would rent again.

5.0The camping van was perfect for the trip my son and I took in Hawaii. Camping at the Volcanos National Park, several beaches and driving across the island was a trip we won't forget. The owner is very accommodating (our flight was delayed 3 hours) and a delight to work with. The van has everything we need plus some. Highly recommend!!!

2.0The van broke down multiple times during our trip, leaving us stranded for hours and forcing us to cancel our plans. Communication from the owner was unclear and unhelpful throughout the problems. Even after the van was supposedly fixed, it broke down again on the last day. Overall, this was a very stressful and disappointing experience, and we would not rent from this owner again
