SUPPLIMENTAL RENTAL AGREEMENTBelow are the basic housekeeping items and specifications that require acknowledgement before departure for your vacation. This ensures there is no confusion or unrealistic expectations of agreed upon rules during your rental and helps maintain the Escape Pod for those who wish to do the same in the future. Please make sure you understand the rules and ask if you have any questions about any particular rule or expectation. Thank you in advance.Fees, Responsibilities and Notes
$250 - Tires (each) - During the rental, tires are the responsibility of the renter. Please review the contract.
$450 - Power Cord - Adapters, Cords, Surge Protector, damaged or lost $15-$450 depending on loss of device.
$75 - Dumping - Unless otherwise specified at the time of booking or if the unit is being delivered/picked up, the renter is responsible for dumping the black and grey tanks.
$250 - Lost/Broken Keys/System - Replacement of current locking system $30-$250
$750 - Smoking (of any sort) - Prohibited in/near the unit: professional cleaning charges will apply to the renter. This includes vaping.
$1500 - Drugs - Prohibited in/near the unit: Any evidence of the storage, transportation, and/or use of illegal substances will forfeit your entire security deposit. RV returned with any evidence of drug use or transportation will result in law enforcement being called for a report and to collect the evidence.
$75/hour - Cleaning - Unit should be returned in the same condition as it was picked up/delivered. Any stains caused by biologicals are subject to additional charges. All dishes, cutlery, etc. are to be washed and put away as you found them. Odors/Cooking - We do not allow anything that can create a strong smell in the RV that is difficult to remove. Please be mindful of the use of spices, fish, grease and sauces. Be mindful of dirty/muddy shoes.
$1500 - Pets - The ONLY animals allowed in the unit are dogs that were approved at the time of pick up. A $250 charge will be assessed for each unauthorized pet. Should any damage occur because of your pet(s), you may be subject to forfeiture of the entire damage deposit plus additional fees depending on severity of damages. You are responsible for repairs including, but not limited to:
- Urine or waste stains
- Claw/scratch/chew marks
- Damage to furniture
- Excessive cleaning
There is to be no pet left unattended for any length of time for any reason. If the unit needs to be professionally cleaned for reasons due to the pet, this may result in cleaning charges that will apply to the renter.
$100 - Jack Stabilizer (each) - Replacement of the stabilizer jacks due to damage cause by but not limited to:
- Excessive weight (ie. trying to lift the unit with them)
- Bending/breaking (ie. backing up over uneven ground)
$$$ - Service Call - Self induced issues that require a service call will be deducted from the damage deposit. Examples of these issues are listed below, but not limited to:
- Overflowing the grey tank to the point water comes up into the shower
- Draining the battery because a generator or grid powered electricity was not used
$$$ - Black Tank - There is to be nothing other than RV/Marine toilet paper and bodily waste put into the toilet. (Use TP sparingly as RV toilets are small and don’t handle large amounts of TP well. WATER IS YOUR FRIEND). If the toilet becomes plugged or won’t flush and a service call is required, it will be deducted from the damage deposit.
$$$ - Late Fees - The return time for this unit is what is agreed to on the written copy you will sign during pick-up. There is a late penalty of $30 admin plus $30/hr. Additionally, if late return results in disruption of another rental, renter will pay the full daily rate for every 8 hours the unit is late plus an additional $100 admin fee.
$$$ - Safe Driving - For your safety and to protect the unit from excessive wear and tear, we ask that you not exceed 100 kms/hr when travelling.
$$$ - Propane First tank is included. Any additional propane will be at renter’s expense.
$400 - Brake Controller (if applicable) - If opting in to rent the Wireless Kurt brake controller, it is the responsibility of the renter to ensure it is returned in satisfactory working condition. If stolen or requiring replacement, a full replacement will be charged.Additional - This is not an all-inclusive list but a reminder of most frequently occurring fees.
• No Refunds for Early Returns: If you return early, we do not refund the days you will not use. This includes if you have an accident or crash in the unit.
• All drivers must be at least 25 years old and must be listed on the contract when you pick up the unit.
• Campground Reservations. We are not responsible for campground reservations. All campground reservations must be made separately with the campground’s reservation agency. All campground and campsite fees are separate from and in addition to the rental price and fees under this Agreement. No refunds will be given for campsite reservation errors or cancellations.
• Travel Restrictions: No travel allowed on any non-paved roadways like logging roads, forest service roads, beaches, etc. Non-paved roads inside a licensed RV Park or public roadways constructed of gravel are permitted.
• Security Deposit: Your security deposit is refunded after the unit is checked in and there is no damage or issues requiring funds from the deposit. Failure to accurately report your destination or giving a false destination in order to attend a prohibited event will result in forfeiture and total loss of your security deposit. False information that pertains to or results in illegal activity may also result in charges.
• Under no circumstances is a renter to attempt to make any repairs to damages during the rental agreement time without the knowledge and approval of the owner.
• Training: When you pick up the unit we will complete a pre-rental orientation of the unit that will take about 45 minutes to an hour. Picking up an RV is not like picking up a rental car so please plan at least 60 minutes for this when you make your plans. The unit will not be released without a full and complete orientation and funds will not be refunded.
• Appliances: The A/C, radio, microwave, television, jacks, etc. are convenience items. If any malfunctions should occur with any of these items, no compensation will be made to you.
• Climbing on the roof for any reason is prohibited.
• Open flames inside the RV are prohibited (ie. Candles).
• Please ensure any open flames near the outside of the RV are far enough away to not melt, scorch, mar, burn, or cause damage. Any damages to the plastics/metals/accessories or outside walls will be at the renter’s expense.
• Any damages that occur during the length of the rental are to be clearly communicated to the owner at the time of incident to ensure the proper repair can be applied as soon as possible upon return.
• Personal Injury/Personal property. You have signed and agree to the attached release and indemnity form (appendix A) which indicates a full release against any claim of injury or damage to personal property.
• Entire Agreement - This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties regarding the rental of the RV and supersedes all prior oral or written agreements or understandings regarding this subject matter. This Agreement can only be amended by a writing signed by all parties.
Please remember that this unit is not the property of a company. It is someone’s personal property that they are allowing to be experienced by you, the renter. Please respect it as if it were your own. Things happen. Open communication is appreciated and necessary for a great experience on both sides of the transaction and for future renters.FEES ADDENDUM
BY SIGNING THIS ADDENDUM UPON PICK-UP AND ACCEPTING KEYS, YOU UNDERSTAND THERE ARE EXTRA FEES THAT CAN OCCUR IF THE CONTRACT IS NOT ADHERED TO. THESE FEES, IF ASSESSED, WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM AND POTENTIALLY IN ADDITION TO YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT(Appendix A)Release and IndemnityI do hereby release and forever discharge Alicia Hussey, all associated and /or related organizations, and all officers, directors, representatives, and employees (the Releasees) from and all claims whatsoever by common law or by statute which I ever had, now have or which my heirs, executors or administrators may have against the Releasees by statute or other wise, for any reason whatsoever.I acknowledge that the Releasees shall not by settlement or otherwise admit any liability to me, and that any such liability is in fact denied.I further agree to save harmless and indemnify the releasees from and against all claims, charges, taxes or penalties with respect to any amounts which may, in the future be found to be payable by the releasees in respect of me. This includes all claims for injury, including, without limitation, personal, bodily, or mental injury, economic loss or damage to you, guests, pets, unborn children, or relatives, whether or not the injury was caused by use of the RV, negligence, or was otherwise the responsibility of the owner. This also includes all claims for loss of, or damage to, your personal property or that of any other person that was left or carried in or on the RV, whether or not the loss or damages was caused by negligence or was otherwise deemed the responsibility of the owner.I further swear to keep the terms of this release and all settlement discussions and details confidential, provided however that I may make full disclosure if required to do so by law or by reason of, or in connection with personal financial planning or medical treatment. Furthermore, the releasor agrees not to raise or discuss the character and abilities of the Releasee or its employees, officers, shareholders or directors nor policies, records, procedures, attitudes, or any information which the releasor gained about same.
