1975 Volkswagen Transporter Kombi Camper
The VW Bus is conspicuous, especially in two-tone white and baby blue. It's instantly recognizable, and gives off all of the good vibes. But you have to like getting attention. People can't help but smile at you, wave, take pictures, and gesture for you to roll down the window to converse. VW Bus truly feels larger inside than it looks to be from the outside. Short wheelbase allows easy parking. Z-type bed converts to the 3rd row 2 passenger seat. Along with a camping table, second row 3 passenger bench seat and front 2 seats this vehicle accommodates 7 people in comfort and classic style. Economical, simple and reliable 1.6L engine gets you around town for drops of fuel. If you're not renting this for a photo or video shoot, consider of having one anyway. This classic air-cooled vehicle is best suited for casual driving journeys. Please tell us your itinerary, or furthest distance destination prior booking to make sure this car is suitable for your needs. In summer months (typically April – September, but anytime it’s over 95 degrees out) we restrict travel to: All desert areas, in any state, including the Owens Valley and Las Vegas. High altitude areas like Big Bear CA unless you know how to adjust mixture needle to high altitude. Always purchase "PREMIUM" grade fuel (91 octane). Check engine oil level after every re-fueling. Topping off oil is provided. Doors lock only from outside with the tilted to the side key facing aft. The gears goes in smoothly with a little effort in H shape. If done with a rush or forcefully it will eventually damage transaxle (transmission). To put in reverse push down the shift knob, holding down move all the way left than aft. If shifting makes noise you're doing it too fast or wrong. When the engine is cold (it was parked for over 1 hour) you need to push gas pedal all the way first, release and crank it followed with 3 min engine warm up on idle. This 1600 CC / 48HP classic is keepable of crusing speeds of 65mph No exceeding 70 mph is permited. IT WILL DAMAGE THE ENGINE. Please be easy on this classic.
