PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE RENTING!!!!!!!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! BETWEEN THE HOSTS AND THE RV ITSELF; I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER RECOMMEND ANYONE USING THEM OR THIS RV FOR A TRIP. I ALSO DO NOT RECOMMEND OUTDOORSY, AS THEY ARE *NOT* FOR THE CUSTOMER WHO HAS LEGITIMATE COMPLAINTS! They RUINED our vacation, which was a Birthday trip for our 12 year old son myself (I drove the RV ON MY BIRTHDAY thinking it would be a unique experience; BOY WAS I WRONG…. THANKS TO THIS DEATH TRAP OF AN RV!!!) This was our first and only vacation in years, and no way of taking another vacation for several more years. We are all extremely disappointed in our experience and the customer service from the hosts AND OUTDOORSY. We have owned a small automotive repair shop business for 26 years, independently owned and operated, and we would NEVER treat our customers the way the hosts treated us and neglected us. Nor would we allow our customers to drive such an UNSAFE vehicle. We are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles and safety standards, so we know what a safe vehicle is (we do state safety inspections at our shop – this vehicle would NEVER pass a safety inspection with the way it drove all over the road!!!) The RV drove like a dump truck that was missing all of the suspension. It was all over the road from the moment we left the driveway. I had to grip the steering wheel SO HARD that I had bruises on my wrists and arms from squeezing the wheel so hard for hours to keep the RV as straight as I could down the road and interstates, and even with all my might (I’m a pretty strong guy and am familiar with driving larger vehicles such as this, this was NOT a normal driving experience for a large vehicle). We were almost pushed into at least 50 cars because of how poorly aligned the RV was. Every SMALL bump pushed us all over the road as well due to how much it bounced while trying to keep the wheel straight (which was almost IMPOSSIBLE). Our trip was 5 hours away and it drove this way the ENTIRE time, there AND back. The transmission slipped about every 10-20 minutes. We were almost rear-ended many times because of the transmission slipping and losing power. The lights on the dash buttons and the cluster itself kept flickering the entire time. We were flipped off, beeped at, and yelled at from other drivers on the road the ENTIRE TIME DRIVING because we couldn’t get past 40mph at many spots ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS!!!!!!! TALK ABOUT TERRIFYING WITH A 12 YEAR OLD DRIVING WITH US!!!!! We booked this RV, WEEKS in advance, for a family vacation that was set in stone and our campground was paid for in full. The hosts were TERRIBLE at communication, repeatedly changed things, left out PERTINENT details regarding the RV and "little tricks" to get things working in the RV because MANY components were broken. They messaged us 3 days before we were scheduled to receive the RV to tell us that the generator did not work; and they probably wouldn’t fix it by the time we were scheduled to take it. Reminding them we had already prepaid for our campsite in full weeks prior, we asked if they could try. Our original campsite did not have hookups; so this was a problem as we were staying for 5 full days. We were polite and understanding, and booked another campsite with hookups, losing HALF of what we paid for at the original campsite (and that was after pleading with the original campground). The hosts did NOT explain everything to be able to use the RV properly, nor was there any kind of cheat-sheet or tips and tricks for this specific RV to reference back to. We paid extra for a gas grill and a bike rack. They told us UPON DELIVERING THE RV that they rented those out to someone else. When we asked about a credit, BEFORE LEAVING OUR DRIVEWAY WITH THE HOSTS STILL PRESENT…. They told us “we will talk about a credit when you come back” … WE ARE STILL FIGHTING WITH THE HOSTS AND OUTDOORSY SINCE WE RETURNED ON 8/13 (IT’S NOW 8/19) TO GET OUR CREDIT BACK FOR THE ITEMS WE WERE NOT PROVIDED AND PAID FOR!!!!!!!!!! We had NO HOT WATER for 2 days (which we were LATER informed, after having to take a cold shower on my birthday, that there’s a button they forgot to tell us to push to flip the hot water on…………. That should have been told to us UP FRONT) The driver seat was bent so far to the right that I was sitting at an angle trying to hold the wheel straight while trying to hold MYSELF straight. I was able to push the seat with all my might to straighten it after hours of driving, but still was not proper for driving. The driver seat arm rest was broken COMPLETELY off and they had it stuffed in a cubby. There was also a sharp metal piece sticking out of the other arm rest that cut me several times while driving. 2 of the 3 TV's only worked intermittently even after the hosts RUDELY insisted they "worked perfectly fine". (This was a HUGE disappointment to our 12 year old son on the trip with us)…. The living room TV had signs of damage and cracks in the plastic on the outside and underneath as if it was dropped before…. At least a FEW times. The TV also flickered on and off every so often and the remotes didn’t work. Only one remote from the bedroom worked (We also had to supply our own BATTERIES for ALL remotes, despite them telling us they would provide these) The cabinet that the TV was “mounted” to was broken and the hosts had attached a makeshift “latch” to hold it on the wall. The cabinet door where the TV sat was broken and ripped off the hinge. It took 3 people to open the cabinet to access the storage behind the TV for our belongings. The cabinet rattled with the TV on it the ENTIRE trip to and from. There were cigarette butts and FULL soggy cigarettes found throughout the RV. It looked like the entire interior was wiped down with a wet, dirty rag with no soap or cleaning agent. The stove top glass was the WORST of it, literally looking like someone rubbed dirt all over it and smeared it with a wet rag The mattress topper that was on the mattress smelled AWFUL and had so many stains on it resembling urine stains accumulated over YEARS. Used band-aids were found throughout the RV EVERYWHERE. The freezer leaked water into the fridge the entire time, soaking everything we put in the fridge. The fridge also barely worked, which the hosts KNEW about and told us WHEN THEY DROPPED IT OFF. *UPON RETURNING FROM OUR TRIP…. The hosts not ONLY did not give us a credit back for the items we paid for and didn’t receive….. THEY BILLED US $192 FOR GAS, even though we filled it back up to EXACTLY where it was when we left (3/4 of a tank)…. When we disputed this charge with outdoorsy, the host sent them a picture of the COOLANT GAUGE that showed the needle at “C” for COLD……. NOT “E” FOR EMPTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The hosts are rude, demeaning and AWFUL to their customers. When we contacted them the next day about several of the major issues (such as the hot water not working, the TV’s not working, and how UNSAFE the vehicle was to drive…. They were rude, called us NAMES, insulted us and basically said the RV was in “perfect” condition and none of our concerns were valid…. And BARELY made an effort to offer any kind of apology or give assistance. PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, OR OUTDOORSY!!!! WE WILL NEVER EVER BE USING THIS WEBSITE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE ALSO GOING TO BE FILING OFFICIAL COMPLAINTS AGAINST THE HOSTS THEMSELVES AND OUTDOORSY. NEVER HAVE WE RECEIVED SUCH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!! (SEE PICS ATTACHED; AND THE PICTURES DON'T EVEN SHOW ALL OF THE HORRID THINGS WE EXPERIENCED)
