campground Hamburg, NY
Hamburg, New York, is very well located for access to a host of activities and attractions in the upstate New York area, yet is perhaps itself a little thin on the ground for RV parks. However, the nearby Colden Lakes Campground is just a few miles east of Hamburg, and offers excellent RV facilities for both seasonal and weekend visitors. Recently upgraded, the park offers large pull throughs with full service hookups, but unfortunately the best sites along the lake shore are mostly taken by long termers. Being a real back woodsy type of outdoor park, there is not much in the way of amenities at Colden Lakes, but there does exist a lovely heated swimming pool, and a great little restaurant which serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. Although the 4 man-made lakes are somewhat on the small side, they are all well stocked with fish, and in the winter months the hiking trails are great fun on a snowmobile.
