About this RV

Hermes – our non-smoking 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan with Stow 'N Go

touring seating for 7 (without bed)

or roomy seating for 4 (with comfy bed folded back)

or front seating for 2 (with bed made).

Insurance: I've currently disabled Outdoorsy mandatory insurance, saving you $30/day. If you have USA insurance for your own car, your own "collision & comprehensive" automobile insurance policy will likely already cover Hermes. If your insurance is only minimum "liability", you can upgrade to "collision & comprehensive" for your trip. Or if you don't have your own insurance, "RentalCover", "Sure", and "Allianz" are super easy and reasonably priced. Credit card perks like Collision Damage Waiver automatic coverage may not work, since they usually only cover new car rentals (read the fine print). If you reside in California, and don't have USA auto insurance already, StateFarm has a great "Personal Mobility Policy" that is cutting edge! Whatever the case, you need to demonstrate insurance.

Road trip the US and/or Canada without spending a fortune!

1) Rent our Hermes and cut your fuel costs by 70% off big RVs when you cruise around 56mph or 63mph (90kph or 102kph) getting over 30 mpg (9 l/100km). Hermes drives easy and rides soft and quiet, so the journey itself is sweet. Or get somewhere fast using 6 l/100km.

2) Rent our Hermes and cut your hotel costs. With a dreamy 49" wide and 6” thick foam & memory foam mattress, plus a full 60” of elbow room, you'll both always be comfy and well rested, even with a small dog! For showers, swim the rivers, lakes and ocean, and/or get an "Anytime Fitness" monthly membership for real showers.

3) Rent our Hermes and minimize your campsite costs:

a. “Rest Areas” along state highways allow up to 8 hour safety rests (bathrooms, no showers)

b. Walmart stores have a policy of welcoming clean overnight parking (bathrooms, no showers)

c. BLM land (1/8th the US landmass) is free if staying less than 14 days per area

d. “Dispersed camping” is free in National Forest lands (not National Parks)

e. Hermes is neighborhood friendly with standard tinted windows that obscure possible stealth resting.

4) Rent our Hermes and minimize your extra equipment costs. For one low single depreciation fee of $49, borrow our quiet 20qt compressor fridge (or freezer), tent(s), an awning, solar shower(s), a camp toilet, privacy pop-up, TP, shovel, axe, hammock, sleeping bags, extra pillows, towels, stove, headlamps, first-aid kit, table, chairs, pots, pans, plates, cups, cutlery, DC-AC inverter, USB multi-charger, tools, bikes, and more... even a kayak if you have room.

5) Rent our Hermes and minimize your phone/data costs. For likely $1 to $2/day, use our extra smart-phone with US phone number for GPS navigation, calling, hot-spotting data for your foreign phone, pictures, emergencies, et cetera. Watching movies or uploading gobs of photos will cost lots more unless you're near WiFi.

6) Rent our Hermes and cut your mileage costs, since we give you 300 average daily miles, which allows serious distance, yet encourages local adventures along the way.

7) Rent our Hermes with our camping gear Add-On, and cut your airline baggage costs. Just bring yourself, ID, toothbrush, swimsuit, underwear. Visit thrift stores everywhere for more or local clothes at crazy low prices. Travel light, so you can afford to travel often.

Picking up / Dropping off: please allow at least an hour for safety and familiarity checks, loading / unloading gear, Hermes inspection, and Outdoorsy paperwork that I'll have ready for us.

Hermes has blue cloth interior, a 3.8L V6 gasoline engine, automatic transmission, dual air conditioning, roof DVD/RCA/HDMI/USB/SD player, fire extinguisher, jumper cables, jack/spare tire, Class II hitch (3500/300/1.25) /w either ball, Yakima rack, 20 gallon (76 liter) fuel tank. Hermes gets 15 to 31 mpg (19.0 – 9.0 l/100km) depending on driving speed/style/location, which yields 300 to 600 miles (482 – 965 km) per tank of fuel.

Renting Hermes from Mark was a dream. Mark himself is prompt with communication, helpful with explanations, and knowledgeable about everything relating to Hermes and the equipment it comes with. Hermes itself was also amazing, with no issues whatsoever. All of the friends we went camping with were amazed at the setup, from the comfy bed in the back to all the camping gear it came with. I would absolutely recommend Hermes to anyone that is looking for a one-stop-shop and easy camping experience.

Mark was great to work with. Gave detailed instructions on how to get to his place using the BART, communicated quickly and effectively, and Hermès had everything+ that we needed. The camping equipment was very nice to be able to rent as well since we hung out mostly in a National Park. The bed was very comfortable and the electric cooler was so nice we are looking at buying our own. Thanks Mark!!

This was my first solo road trip with my pup and I felt like I had everything I needed with Hermes. The bed was comfy, there was a mini fridge provided, table and othe little amenities that I didnt know I needed. Mark was super responsive when I had questions and did a thorough inspection of the car with me before I drove off to make sure there were no surprises. I would rent it again in a heartbeat. It's a great value!

Mark was very accommodating and thorough. We enjoyed our trip and the amenities the dodge had to offer. The ride was smooth and comfortable along with the bed. We will definitely be working with Mark for our future trips!

Mark is really helpfull and gives a lot of great tips for trips. We rented Hermes for a month and we didn't encounter any problems. We would recommend this car to everyone who wants a great roadtrip. Thanks again Mark!
