This was our first time renting from outdoorsy, and apparently it was Charlie’s first time too! Despite the learning curve, Charlie made the whole process incredibly painless. He checked in with us periodically leading up to the trip, inquiring about additional camp things we might need since we were coming from out of state and even offering ideas of what to do and see along our way. He was very responsive to any questions we had. When we got to the pick up address, Charlie explained everything we needed to know about operating the vehicle, the pop up tent, and the trunk set up. He truly thought of everything you could need on an overlanding trip, which saved us a lot of money and hassle not having to buy extra things like camp chairs, coolers, cooking supplies, etc. that we wouldn’t be able to take home with us at the end of the trip. Despite so much coming with the vehicle, we found that we had ample storage for food items, 2 carry on suitcases, plus a large suitcase full of our rock climbing gear. The trip itself was absolutely amazing, this vehicle is the perfect overlanding SUV in every way. The pop up tent is a little quirky with the set up and break down but between Charlie’s instructions and doing it a couple of times we made a good system with two people helping (it would definitely be annoying- but doable!- for a solo camper in my opinion). The tent also held up really well even in some pretty dramatic Moab weather (heat, 30mph wind gusts, and heavy rain). We took the tarp off because we wanted better air flow / easier set up and had no issues with leaking even in the rain. Charlie asked us to provide feedback since it was his first time renting the vehicle out and was very receptive to our small suggestions on how to improve the set up. Overall, we had an amazing time renting from Charlie, I feel like we found a true gem renting this vehicle and will cherish the memories of this trip forever!
