If you want to include one of the country’s most popular national parks on your California RV trip, then Yosemite is your choice. It is well known for its impressive waterfalls and giant sequoia trees. But it also features geologic wonders like the rock-climbing spectaculars of El Capitan and the famous Half Dome. With plenty to do year-round, Yosemite should be on the must-see list for anyone who’s planning a RV trip in California.2. Redwood National and State Parks (340 miles from pick-up location)
The best RV trips to California definitely include a stop to see the tallest trees on earth. Hike on the 170-mile trail system within the parks, or bike, kayak, and view wildlife throughout the parks. You can even join a ranger-led kayak tour during the summer months. Be sure to visit Tall Trees Grove, where a four-mile round-trip hike leads you to an alluvial flat next to Redwood Creek and what was once known as the world’s tallest tree.3. California Highway 1 (35 miles from pick-up location)
The Pacific Coast Highway, also known as PCH1 or California Highway 1, has some of the most dramatic coastal views in California. The highway stretches from Orange County in southern California to Mendocino County, north of San Francisco. Your itinerary could be as short as 2 days or easily span up to 10 days – there’s so much to take in.4. Lake Tahoe (200 miles from pick-up location)
The spectacular natural beauty and cobalt blue alpine lake of Lake Tahoe in California make this a perfect place to explore on your RV road trip. Dotted with small lakeside towns and offering plenty of outdoor adventures, such as low-key sightseeing, hiking, camping, and boating on the lake, Lake Tahoe has something for everyone. You can even hit the slot machines at one of the casinos on the Nevada side of the lake. You’ll have a great choice of RV campgrounds in and around Lake Tahoe on the California side, but I recommend staying at one close to the lake so you can enjoy both land and water activities. Campground By The Lake is a super-convenient park in South Lake Tahoe that has wooded sites and easy access to the lake.5. Mendocino Coast (185 miles from pick-up location)There are plenty of RV campgrounds along the coastal highway in California where you can stop and spend a few days exploring. The Manchester Beach KOA on California’s Mendocino Coast is where you can enjoy abalone diving, good fishing, and fantastic local wineries. Other RV camps worth mentioning are the Ocean Mesa Campground at El Capitan in Santa Barbara and San Diego’s Chula Vista RV Resort. For a special memory and a unique experience like none other, consider a day exploring on the Pudding Train Express via the 135-year-old Skunk Train at Fort Bragg (we think the best one is the 2-hour trip!) or hop on the rail bikes for a more active experience. Here are some KOA (Kampgrounds of America) locations within a 200-mile radius of San Jose, California:-Santa Cruz / Monterey Bay KOA: Located in Watsonville, approximately 35 miles south of San Jose. It offers RV and tent camping, cabins, and amenities such as a pool, hot tub, bike rentals, and a dog park.-San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA: Situated in Petaluma, around 60 miles north of San Jose. It provides RV and tent sites, cabins, a pool, hot tub, mini-golf, and a petting zoo.-Santa Cruz Mountains KOA: Located in Felton, about 30 miles south of San Jose. This campground offers RV and tent sites, cabins, a pool, hot tub, hiking trails, and a playground.-Moss Landing KOA Express: Situated in Moss Landing, approximately 60 miles south of San Jose. It provides RV and tent sites, cabins, a playground, and easy access to nearby beaches and wildlife areas.-Costanoa KOA: Located in Pescadero, around 50 miles south of San Jose. This coastal campground offers RV and tent sites, cabins, a spa, yoga classes, hiking trails, and access to the beach.-Salinas / Monterey KOA: Situated in Salinas, about 70 miles south of San Jose. It offers RV and tent sites, cabins, a pool, hot tub, bike rentals, and a petting zoo.

We had a great exprience with renting our first C CLass RV. We were able to pick up the RV in a timely manner. The directions given by Brandon to pick up the RV and to drop it off , made it seamless. It was a well maintained RV and very comfortable. What made it so atractive was that the RV came completlely furnished with towels, linens, kitchenware, outside chairs, BBQ and outside table. Everything you would need for a camping trip! What made it even more relaxing was that Brandon always was a text away if you had any questions about the RV. We would difinately rent from Brandon again! All in all a great experience.

Brandon was a great host, very thoughtful in explaining how everything worked. Amazing RV, this was our first time renting an RV and it couldn’t have been better. Great experience with Brandon and the RV. Would 100% rent with him again, and my cousin who was in the trip too actually might be renting it soon!!

This was our first time renting an RV and we have to say, Brandon made it such a seamless process. The RV is amazing, lots of extras provided so you don’t have to bring much, and was organized and clean. Fun lights under the awning were a great addition, he really takes pride in his RV and it shows! We were so grateful for his fast communication when we had questions, and just checking in to make sure we were doing okay. Highly recommend this RV and we will DEFINITELY be renting again on our next trip!

Everything went great using the RV. We went to Tahoe and back without any issues. The RV had plenty of space for our group and all the supplies we needed. Brandon was very responsive and was great to rent from.
