I rented Josh’s van after messaging with him on April 16th; he sent a message canceling the rental on May 20th saying the van was double booked. This was less than one month before we were set to leave (June 12). Outdoorsy sent me a coupon for a small discount to rebook a different vehicle but the code did not work. It took several calls to get everything figured out and luckily I found an amazing replacement, thus my family vacation was able to happen as planned.With that being said, initially Josh was very accommodating for early pick up and drop off times due to the strange standard times set by Outdoorsy. He also gave a military discount. I was very appreciative of Josh’s willingness to accommodate renters on timeframes and support for our military members. As stated above, I messaged with Josh prior to renting and all was going well until he had to cancel my booking two weeks prior to us leaving. I was embarrassed and very saddened to explain to my family the trip together was in jeopardy as the van was unexpectedly canceled so close to our agreed departure. In areas, I give 5 stars and in others I give 1 star. I must also say that I was willing to pay the extra price for this van vs the others available in order to meet the owner with my son. Not sure if it’s necessary to mention that; however, I do so in order to fully convey my disappointment.
