2002 Dutchmen Express
This is a delivery-only rental. I will deliver it to your campsite, set it up, show you how to use it, and pick it up when your rental is over. You will not have the ignition key.The water and propane tanks will be full when I deliver. The gas tank will be near full (the generator uses the gas in the tank). There is a queen-size bed in the back. The sofa and dining table fold down for use as beds. The over cab bunk is a great place for putting things or to use for sleeping. It supports 200 pounds. If you plan on putting people up there know there is no retaining strap to keep them from falling off. The RV easily sleeps 5 adults (note over-cab weight limit).A 40-gallon freshwater holding tank and 6-gallon hot water tank give you plenty of water if your campsite has no water connection. The refrigerator and freezer run on propane or electricity. The hot water heater and stove run on propane. The microwave is electric. The inside shower has a fold-out curtain rod for additional space inside the shower. This is a 30 amp RV. The onboard generator fires right up and provides ample power if you are staying where there are no 30 amp electrical connections.Roof vents have covers so you can keep them open during a rainstorm. The A/C works great if the open vents and screened windows are not sufficient. We've used our RV in the winter months in South Dakota. The heater works well. We keep the inside temperature set at about 70 degrees. If it's going to be cold where you're camping we can include some additional portable electric heaters.Well-behaved pets welcome. We've traveled and camped with 4 cats and a Yorkie. They all find "their" spot.We took the TVs out of the RV. Bring your laptop or other device if you want to watch TV; there is a radio/DVD/Blue Tooth player mounted under one of the cabinets in the living area. The radio works well, the Blue Tooth player works well, the DVD player sometimes freezes during movies. What's includedDue to COVID-19 concerns bring your own bed linens (or sleeping bags), pillows, and bath towels. Also, you provide your food and drinks. There is a plastic folding table and 4, not heavy-duty, camp chairs that come with the RV. There is also a small charcoal BBQ grill. You will need to bring your own charcoal, lighter fluid, and matches. This BBQ grill is for grilling outside; not under the awning or on the folding plastic table. Also, no BBQ grilling or lighted candles inside the RV. The only flames allowed inside the RV are the flames from the RV propane gas stove. There is a white bicycle available and there is a blue bicycle available for rent with the RV. See the add-ons section and the two bike photos. The saddlebags on the white bike are not included and will be removed. You can have the small cross-bar bag removed if you don't want it. On the blue bike, you can have the front basket removed if you don't want it. For both bikes, you need to bring your own helmet and bike locks.Plates, bowls, cups, utensils, cookware, and microwave dishes come with the camper.Toilet paper also comes with the RV.Sewer and water hoses are included if your campsite has a sewer connection and water. In-line water filter for water hose included.A string of lights and an extension cord for outside lighting in the awning area included.Chock blocks and wheel covers for the tires and leveling blocks included.Small vacuum with vacuum bags included to vacuum the carpet as needed.Heated water hose available if you're camping in the cold. Check with your RV park or campsite as they may turn off the water during cold weather.Other items are covered during delivery and return walk-thru inspections.
Please plan on taking about one hour at delivery and 30 minutes at pick up to go over everything. Other things to noteNo smoking or vaping inside the RV or within 25 feet. There is a very expensive fee for smoking or vaping inside or near the RV. We require a $500 security deposit which is held for additional generator hours and/or to cover costs in the event of a claim for damages. All damages or items that are not normal wear and tear during the rental are the responsibility of the renter. Please note that only 3 hours of generator use per day is included in the rental. Any hours and/or portion of an hour over that use incur an additional $5 per hour charge. If your campsite has 30 amp electricity you should not need to use the generator at all.I will deliver within a 50-mile radius of Vermillion, SD. If you want it delivered outside the 50-mile radius (I use Google Maps) we will need to talk about increasing the delivery fee (I have to have a vehicle to get back home and then back up to the rental for pick up). There is a $100 delivery charge within the 50-mile radius that includes the setup and take-down work. There is a $50 black and grey water dump fee. I will do one dump of the holding tanks for the $50 fee. If you need a second or more black and grey water dumps during your rental I will come to do it for $100 for each additional time a dump is needed (and you have to have everything packed up for me to move the RV to the nearest dump site. I have to tear down and set back up for you so it's best if you only need the one dump at the end of your rental). There is a $200 cleaning fee if the RV is not returned in the same clean condition, including the dishes, as it was delivered. The trick for cold weather RV'ing is to make sure things don't freeze; it can be done and we've done it. Of course, severe weather can delay delivery or pick up. We will discuss weather conditions and possible impacts on delivery and/or pick up as your rental date approaches. You won't have the ignition key for the RV; I will keep it. This will reduce your insurance cost since you will not be driving the RV.You must be, or have on the booking request, an Outdoorsy.com verified renter before the booking will be accepted. You must include the insurance option on your rental.

We used to tent camp with our kids. But now they're grown and we don't like sleeping on the ground anymore. So, an RV is a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors without having to sleep on the ground. It's the best of both worlds - being outdoors and having all the amenities of home.

Jeff was very gracious and helpful. He fit us into a tight turnaround window for him on the dates we needed. As we were using this experience to learn and determine our next step in RV ownership, he was very thorough in providing functional details of the RV and perspectives on 'best practices'. We enjoyed our stay in Ponca State Park and the RV was exactly as advertised.

Jeff was great to work with he was very through and made sure we knew how to operate everything before we took off and when we returned it was a simple process. We had a great first RV experience!
