1980 Ford Econoline Club Wagon
This 1980 Ford Econoline Van with an Okanagan high top conversion was our home for 3 summers and 2 winters in BC. We have spent many hours renovating the inside and installing new parts to make it mechanically sound. There is a stereo deck and speakers which can play via aux cord or CD's.The van is equipped with a 2 burner stove and furnace which runs off a 20 lb propane tank located on the passenger side of the van.The van has a new 12V dometic fridge which runs off the battery. The battery is charged while driving but also by a 100 W solar panel on the roof. The health of the battery can easily be monitored inside the van by a LCD screen. There is an inverter with USB and 120V plugs for charging devices. There is also a lighter plug in the corner by the bed to plug in the LED lights above the bed and charge devices. There is a fresh water and grey water tank on board. The fresh is ~100L and the grey is a 20 L tank that must be removed and dumped as necessary. We ask that our van stays within the Yukon and not travel to Alaska. If you wish to travel to Alaska then you should look for another rental that will allow it.Outdoorsy does NOT provide insurance for the Yukon and therefore it is the responsibility of the renter to provide insurance for the van for the duration of their rental. If you have any questions let us know.Mitch & MarisaWhat's included-Pots and pans

There is many spots to check out around the Yukon for hiking, fishing, biking, canoeing etc. Other things to noteA discount of 5% will be applied for bookings 7 or more days long.
A discount of 10% will be applied for bookings 10 or more days long.
A discount of 15% will be applied for bookings 14 or more days long. There is limited cell service in the Yukon. Renters should look into bringing a GPS communication device (InReach, Spot, Zoleo, etc) to communicate with loved ones or with us if there is any questions about the van while travelling. The outdoorsy insurance does not apply to the Yukon so we require renters provide proof of insurance for the rental of the van. We have had renters from across Canada and the US who have been able to find insurance for the rental of a campervan. If you need any help with this step feel free to reach out and we can give you some options and insurance providers that other renters have used. The van is 2wd with some great tires so it is ok to drive down rougher gravel roads to access campgrounds, but avoid doing any off-roading with this van. You can go down the Dempster to access the Tombstone park / Campground, but you cannot travel down the Dempster highway any further with this van.A detailed manual will be provided with instructions about the van and how to use the amenities it has.The van and jerry can will be given full of gas and is expected to be returned back the same. Please return it fairly tidy when you're trip is over for easy cleaning and for the next renter. No smoking and no pets. We will only rent to those over the age of 25. Travel is to be kept within the Yukon Territory.

Marisa and Mitch were great hosts, super nice and very helpful. They even went out of their way to accommodate our dates, and always answered any questions or concerns quickly, even when they were off the grid on their own vacation. We really appreciate them making our trip possible and very memorable! Thank you for everything!

Great trip. Marisa and Mitch are very professional and communicative. The Van worked perfectly well, despite its old age. The bed was very comfortable and we had enough propane for our weeks trip. Thank you very much Marisa and Mitch!

Thank you for the very kind review Jean! We loved hearing about your trip, glad we were able to extend your trip an additional day, and that you had such a great time exploring the Yukon with our Ol' Betsy! Glad everything work well and you enjoy the comfort of it all! Take care and please come back up and rent from us again!

Nice vintage RV for two people! We felt a bit like in Strangers Things.
Marisa’s answer
Thank you Isabelle for choosing Betsy for your Yukon adventure and the kind review! We are so glad you enjoyed travelling around in it and the vintage character it brought! It was great to hear you found other options to explore some of the places our van couldn't get to. All the best and you are always welcome to come back up here and rent our Ol' Betsy again :)

Good Ol' Betsy didn't fail us once. From Whitehorse to Tombstone Park it kept us safe.
We cooked meals on the propane stove, and some of us slept in it. We can confirm it is great for four people (Just make sure to have tents or hammocksso you don't have to stack yourselves on top of each other like fire wood).
Great owners as well! Assisted promptly with a last minute booking request.

Q.Are there any additional costs that occur when booking our van?
A.
A $100 dollar cleaning/ prep fee and a $500 deposit will be charged. The renter will get their deposit back after the van is returned.
Blankets/ towels, Inreach, Bear Spary and/or refueling fees are optional add-on charges if the renter chooses to select when booking our van.
Q.Can the van be rented less day than the minimum 5 day rule?
A.
Unfortunately, no. There is typically a fair amount of prep work we do before and after each rental.
We have determine the time put in on our end and overall cost for us to make it worth renting out needs to be at least 5 days.
Q.Things to have prepared before a booking?
A.
To make things quicker and easier with us accepting your requested booking of our campervan you should: Have your driver verification completed; Insurance coverage (reach out to a third party if yours cannot cover a rental); and Details/ quick overview of your trip. We will reach out to you if you don't once a booking request has been placed and ask these questions before accepting your booking.
Q.How does insurance/ protection coverage work with the rental of our van?
A.
Outdoorsy does not provide insurance for rentals in the Yukon yet. Renters will need to provide and already have or obtain their own car insurance, in addition show proof their insurance will also cover the rental and/or use of other vehicles, which includes campervans. Add-on options for this sort of thing are possible, but needs to be discussed with your insurance provider or third-party.
