We have lived in Southcentral Alaska since the early 60's and know all kinds of neat folks and places to visit/explore. Just let us know your interests and we will provide you with ideas to help you plan your adventure!Special note: The listing states that music festivals are not approved...as musicians ourselves, we are very familiar with them. If you would like to attend a music festival, please just ask. Some of them are NOT approved, but many of them are! If you would like to attend a music festival that we approve of, the minimum insurance level is the "Premium" offering. Other things to note
Please be advised of the following:Renters need to include Outdoorsy Insurance--having personal insurance is great additional coverage, but we will not be accepting bookings that do not include at least the minimum Outdoorsy Insurance coverage offered. No driving on unimproved, remote roads without prior approval and purchase of Outdoorsy Premium Insurance package. This includes Skilak Lake Road, over Hatchers Pass, the Denali Highway, the Haul Road, the road to Manley, Circle, McCarthy, etc. If you seek approval to drive on unimproved remote roads, you will be required to purchase premium insurance coverage. (NOTE: Please do not let this requirement stop you from applying with https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10086913 for driving into Denali Park) Accessing Denali Park through the permit process is an exception to the premium insurance requirement for driving on unimproved remote roads. If you plan to have more than two people using the rig, you MUST include the 3x5 Utility Trailer as an add-on (interior space in a Forester is somewhat limited.) It comes with an extra tent, ground cloth, sleeping pad, extra sleeping bag(s), and other supplies as needed. Up to 4 adults can have a comfortable camping experience in this well equipped rig. If you book a reservation for more than 2 people and do not include the utility trailer as an add-on, your reservation will not be accepted. No smoking or vaping of anything inside the vehicle or tent.No fish or game of any kind is allowed inside the vehicle unless it is secured in the cooler PRIOR to placing in the rig. Cooler valves must be secure prior to placing in rig. Please make sure to check! Cooler water that leaks into the rig will result in extra cleaning charges and will be taken out of your deposit as necessary. Thank you in advance for being conscientious on the matter!Pets are not allowed with the exception of service animals. Proof of service animal certification required. Any damage caused by service animals will be deducted from the deposit upon return (photo documented.)Pick up is 2pm, drop off is 11am. Early pick up and late drop off option available in “add-on” section. NOTE: Outdoorsy has arbitrarily set the pick-up time as 3pm on ALL of their listings. They have said that they are working on resolving the issue. Pick up time for this rig is 2pm!Because we are supplying so many consumables, please note on the inventory supply list which items need to be replenished when you check out--it will help us make sure that others have a completely supplied rig.If any of the non-consumable items are missing at checkout (lumi lamps, headlamps etc) you will be charged for replacement cost plus $10 per item. A detailed supply inventory list will be provided for convenient reference, location placement in the rig, and replenishment input. There is a $75 non-refundable prep/cleaning fee--we sanitize the vehicle, change all bedding out, replenish all consumables, and make sure everything is clean and ready for the next set of guests. If the rig has not been respectfully treated, an additional fee of $50 per hour spent cleaning/sanitizing/organizing will be assessed from the security deposit (to be photo documented.) Basic trash pickup and cleanliness is requested on your part. The camp kitchen and freezer chest must be returned spotlessly clean. We do not expect folks to vacuum or wash the vehicle, just be respectful.Best Regards and Happy Adventuring!
Karl and CynthiaNote: Be advised that failure to adhere to these rules will result in loss of deposit monies--please be kind and respectful is all we ask. We are hoping that the rig is not totally trashed upon return, and that the windshield or body is not damaged due driving on unimproved roads without permission (or Premium Outdoorsy coverage!)Thank you for understanding our concerns. We desire to be an Outdoorsy vendor for years to come, and hope to not get discouraged by inconsiderate renters the first few years we are trying to share our rig and gear. We thank you in advance for being kind and considerate...it is very much appreciated!
